Fossil-related workshops will be held in conjunction with the Fossil Excavation Experience 2023, as outlined below.

To allow participants to enjoy the workshops together with the excavation experience, the application time has been set one hour later.
In order to allow as many people as possible to participate, each household may apply for up to two types of workshops. We look forward to your participation.

“Creating a Full-Body Dinosaur Reconstruction Model”
For 4th-grade elementary school students and older

Participants will add flesh to a Tyrannosaurus skeleton model using clay.

For elementary school students and older

Participants will experience creating a reconstruction model by adding flesh with colored clay to Favorite Co.’s Honekesh Tyrannosaurus, created under the supervision of dinosaur reconstruction illustration specialists and researchers.

Create your own dinosaur world by choosing your favorite dinosaur figure and materials from a wide selection. You are also welcome to bring your own favorite dinosaur figures or special materials.

Choose one dinosaur or shark template from five to six options and create a wire art decoration using wire. Dinosaur craft kits that can be made at home, as well as completed works, will also be available for purchase.

“Reconstruction Drawing Workshop”
For junior high school students and younger

This workshop focuses on drawing a reconstruction illustration based on diagrams of dinosaur skulls. Participants can choose from three types of skulls: Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and Allosaurus.

The most important thing in drawing a reconstruction illustration is to understand the skeleton correctly. Participants will begin by carefully tracing a skull diagram, then complete a lively reconstruction showing the dinosaur with flesh and skin. This is the same method I actually use in my professional work, so please take this opportunity to experience a professional approach.
